The Southwest Wisconsin Regional Technical Rescue Team is a regional partnership between fire and EMS departments located throughout several counties in the southwestern corner of the State of Wisconsin. This partnership was forged to address a need that exists throughout this region for advanced-level capabilities in the technical rescue disciplines. Technical rescue personnel train several times each month on disciplines such as high and low angle rope rescue, confined space rescue, swiftwater rescue, ice rescue, and collapse rescue. All personnel who train and respond with the technical rescue partnership are sponsored by a local fire or EMS department.
This regional
partnership is open to departments located in Grant, Crawford, Richland,
Iowa, and Lafayette counties. We are always available for
outreach and will be visiting many fire and EMS agencies throughout our area
in 2008, to discuss the requirements for and benefits of joining our
partnership. Fire or EMS personnel who have an interest in getting
involved with this team should have their department chief contact the Grant
County Emergency Management Office for more information. |
